Las siete canciones fueron registradas en octubre de 1971 en el estudio de Jankowsky, Stuttgart, producidas por Jonas Porst (un encargado de Ihre Kinder) y dirigidas por Klaus Reiser. ¡ siete canciones, todas buenas, algunas grandes! Un álbum recomendado que desafortunadamente se ve muy raramente alrededor hoy en día. Prof. Wolfff sounds like an angrier, more progressive and more electric version of "Ihre Kinder" which isn't too surprising since their only album was produced by Ihre Kinder's manager. This is a good album that may not hit with everybody. This is one of those very fortunate moments. In this case They inspired that nice Mexican lady known as Guadalupe.com to send me this marvelous album. I think that if I had seen this LP in any record store back in the 70's (yeah I was already alive then) I would have buy it anyway just because of the marvelous and enigmatic cover art. The only thing I know for sure is that out of pure luck buying this album wouldn’t have been a waste of money. Prof. Wolfff is a very rare (and also well crafted) piece of early symphonic psych or proto–prog... They only released this album which is a nicely balanced blend of early but not abusive psych, some subtle and beautiful folk arrangements, surprisingly well performed and way above average vocal harmonies (in german) and excellent instrumentation including the driving force of a dense but not intrusive Hammond Organ. Give it a try. I promised you won’t be disappointed. Prof. Wolfff is pure, delightful musical lycanthrophy. I believe that in Heaven it rains lp’s like this one. Viel Hammondorgel, abwechslungsreiche Songs die mal eher direkter Rock sind, mal Ballade, mal epischer - immer sehr gut. Die deutschen Texte sind sehr direkt, sozialkritisch, leider auch heute aktuell und können einen vielleicht runterziehen wenn man eh grad nen schlechten Tag hat (Weh uns z.B.). Ansonsten wunderts mich, dass die Band nicht bekannter wurde, das war bester deutschsprachiger Rock der Zeit. Jerry Absolute Zustimmung! Der Gesang geht stark in Richtung Ihre Kinder, man legt aber sehr viel Wert auf ausgefeilte Musik und klampft nicht so vor sich hin, wenn ich das mal so lax ausdrücken darf. Die Texte sind sehr interessant, da teilweise richtige kleine Geschichten erzählt werden. Macht wirklich Spaß, da genau hinzuhören. Die Musik erinnert manchmal an Lied des Teufels. Sehr gutes Album... Der typisch qäckende Gesang jener Zeit stört mich zu keiner Zeit, so müssten ‘Ihre Kinder’ wohl auch klingen.
‘Hans im Glück’ suche ich schon lange, wusste allerdings nicht wer das Stück spielte.

Hammond wie sie mir gefällt.
Die Texte sind teilweise etwas holprig, aber insgesamt gut.

dal 1995 la prima webzine italiana di Progressive Rock Ottima ristampa, l'ennesima. che ci fa capire come l'underground tedesco degli anni '70 non avesse praticamente rivali, quanto meno come numero e qualità media delle produzioni; per ciò che riguarda il successo commerciale... beh, quella è un'altra storia. Prof. Wolfff è il nome di un altro gruppo mitico e mitizzato dai collezionisti di Prog di mezzo mondo, ed è bello che finalmente anch'esso sia disponibile su cd. Il rock di questo gruppo è il tipico rock tedesco d'inizio anni '70, con molti tocchi psichedelici, chitarre acide ma non troppo, grande lavoro d'organo, brani lunghi ed elaborati. Il Prog più melodico e sinfonico arriverà dopo qualche anno, ma queste produzioni conservano il fascino dei prodotti underground e possiamo già sentircelo in nuce, con delle belle aperture che spezzano la frenesia generale; ci sono ancora molte reminiscenze psichedeliche, come detto, nonché beat. Questo cd è da prendere in considerazione sicuramente, se vi prefiggete di avere conoscenza non superficiale di quanto di buono gli anni '70 hanno offerto. Embora rotulado por muitos como krautrock, acho que não se encaixa bem na descrição, pois não se vê muitos traços de psicodelia ou experimentalismo no grupo. É mais hard mesmo, com muito hammond, a sujeira sonora típica daquela época. Uma dica perfeita para os amantes desse tipo de som, que irão se deliciar com a competência dos músicos (embora o baterista me pareça um pouco lento nas viradas), e a qualidade inegável das composições.
